Family Law

It is a fact of modern life that despite one’s best hopes, relationships between married couples face strains that can lead to divorce. Couples who have a child or children face the same dilemma whether they are married or not.

The fact is that the complexities of navigating the Family Court in Connecticut inevitably require an experienced family practitioner who knows divorce law, including issues of custody, visitation, support, alimony and property settlements.

A marriage lasting just a few years can include issues as serious as any other. Consulting a lawyer to determine your rights is always the best advice.

Personal Injury Wrongful Death

No one ever plans for the possibility of being injured in an accident, whether it is at work or on the highway. But if you are involved in a crash or a loved one is in the hospital, you need to move quickly to preserve evidence that will assist your case to reap the maximum benefit.

Like other areas of the law, personal injury can be complex and confusing. Insurance companies representing their customers would like you to believe that you will be compensated without your own lawyer getting involved. However, experience shows that injured parties are made whole again by obtaining treatment from medical people who address your injuries, and by dealing with a legal team who is looking out for your financial interest.

General Litigation

This area of practice seeks to accommodate those clients who either need to bring suit in Superior Court to enforce a legal right, to re-dress a wrong or to defend against an action started by someone else. Most lawsuits revolve around money, but there are certainly matters that involve non-economic relief such as restraining orders, boundary line disputes, landlord — tenant matters, insurance issues and probate litigation.

General litigation is a catch-all category which covers a wide range of matters, sometimes including various areas of the law that are not highly specialized.
